Rain rain rain

I played at my friend's house this afternoon. Thank goodness he lives close because we walked in the pouring pouring pouring rain. It has snowed so much that walking down our street is like walking down a river, now that it is raining and the snow is melting too. This afternoon Mom and I played pictionary and then I put my pictures together to make a story about an alien who went and played in the snow and then a fire melted the snow and then he went back to his planet. Mom made a story out of putting her pictures together about a boy named Peter who went to the store to buy some broccoli and on the broccoli was a fly. Peter didn't know what kind it was so he looked it up in the encyclopedia and saw that it was a scypie fly that can talk. The fly said it's name was Jippy and asked Peter if he wanted to be friends. Peter and the fly hung out and ate bananas together. Mom and I played arcade basketball for a bit and Ben and I played with our webkinz for a while. We watched the Garfield movie before dinner. By the way, I love Chinese food and wish I could eat it or Japanese food every day.

I walked to school with my neighbour; he is in my class. The Principal was in my class for a while while my teacher had some things to do. After school I played on the climbing part of the playground and then Mom and Kate and I went to the house of another boy from my class for lunch. We had grilled cheese sandwiches and blueberries and carrots and milk and yummy homemade chocolate chip muffins for dessert. I jumped on his trampoline and he has a slide and all sorts of fun toys. He even has a big dog named Daisy, who I was a bit timid around. Another exciting part was that I got to try his very cool horse pogo stick. I have always wanted a pogo stick and there was one right at his house! I practiced and got better and better at it. I had my second swimming lesson this afternoon too. Mom and I talked about me trying my best and smiling when the teacher talked to me. I did all that! Special snack tonight is part of a kit-kat bar that I am sharing with Kate. Yum.

I stayed home from school yesterday and today because I have a cold. I watched TV, played board games, Mom read me a new Junie B. Jones book "Boo, and I Mean it!", and I even got to eat my breakfast in bed. On Monday we visited Ben in the hospital.

The weather was beautiful again. I walked to school with Mom and Ben and Kate. We arrived early and had time to climb on the climbing centre. I am getting more confident. The story in school was The Paper Bag Princess again because some people in my class liked it so much they wanted to hear it again. We played a math card game that I thought was really hard, and I didnt' like it. Mom asked me what the best thing about school was, and I said snack time. She asked me if I like school and I said, "No times a billion". I got my hair cut this afternoon and Mom bribed me by letting me play gamecube while she cut my hair. I am not usually allowed to play gamecube during the week, but I was soooo wiggly and ornary that she knew the only thing that turns my mind completely in one direction is playing Mario Sunshine. So, I got my hair cut and I look very handsome, and I said so.

Mom gave me a piggy-back ride to school today. The story today was The Paper Bag Princess. Funny story, I liked it, and apparently it is my teacher's favourite story. I practiced tracing zig-zag lines. I walked part way home with a boy in my class, and I asked his Dad if I could go to their house. I met another boy too, and we went back at 3:00 to play with him and his brother on the playground. Mom and Ben and I walked to the store later, and I played on lego.com until dinner time. At dinner I told Mom that the kids in my class call me David. She asked me how that made me feel. Pretty bad I said. I'll have to tell them my name isn't David. My teacher calls me Davis though. Dad brought home a bit of his shephard's pie, and I really liked it. Tonight I brought out all the musical instruments and gave my Mom the accordion, my Dad the tambourine, and myself the drums and tried to convince Ben to be the piano player in my band. He said no, so we had a band session anyway and I was a great band leader. Then Ben decided to join us, and we had creative differences, and faught, and the band broke up. C'est la vie with us musicians.

Of course I practiced making lines in kindergarden today. I am getting quite good at it. I ate the rest of my snack on the way home from school. It was the best part. I had already eaten my yoghurt and applesauce and raisins. I saved my yoghurt covered raisins and little chocolate bunny cookies. I played on the playground and did some climbing on the big climbing structure. I met a new friend on the way home, he is a boy in my class. We walked part of the way home with him and his sister and nanny. I asked my Mom if I could go to his house to play sometime. He told me about his pokemon and we exchanged information about our webkinz. We got along pretty well. Mom and Ben and Kate and I went to the library this afternoon and got some more Junie B. Jones books and some books on CD. We are saving the Junie B. Jones books for when my brother Ben goes into the hospital next week. Those books are his favourites, and mine too. We laugh and laugh. Dad took Ben and I to the store tonight to get the ingredients for shephards pie. Dad has to make it for a potluck at work tomorrow.

I walked to school with my neighbour this morning. She is 10 and very nice. Last night I said I was a bit nervous about it, but also excited. I wore my new running shoes to school. I practiced tracing lines on paper. Everything went well, except I was making a traffic light, and my teacher thought that mine was the broken in half one, but it wasn't. I told her it was someone else's and told her which one was mine. Mom and Ben and Kate picked me up and the weather was very nice for a walk home. For lunch we played restaurant and I bought my lunch from Ben with the play money and ordered it from his menu. Ben read me 4 Chapters of Junie B. Jones has a Monster Under Her Bed. We thought it was very funny. We also read about ants and learned some interesting things about them. We learned about antonyms too and I was great at saying the antonyms of things, like hot-cold, up-down etc. We walked to Edgemont and on the way we quizzed each other about antonyms, and I got a caramel cupcake from a store called Cupcakes. Very yummy. For bedtime story Ben re-read the first 2 Chapters of the Junie B. book to Mom and I. ha ha ha
